![]() ![]() Make sure you are the administrator, run the setup file Origin with Admin rights Restart your PC open Origin from desktop ,accept user agreement,then Origin will update. use the Windows search and type the following locations one at a time and delete the "Origin" folder in each location : ![]() ensure Origin is fully closed by clicking the Origin Menu and selecting Exit. Launch Origin and login to your Origin account. type in start menu search box -'folder options'.click on it. enter the following address into your address bar and press "Enter/Return" Open Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer. Type in UserAccountControlSettings.exe on Start Menu Search field, press Enter. I spent a lot of money on a physical copy of a game I haven't been able to play in months. Not giving Sims 4 its own launcher for patch downloads was a mistake. I ask that EA please make game patches available for download on their site, as Origin simply will not and I'm growing exhausted trying to find solutions that work. I would really like to update/play my games again. All updates with any games automatically fails. Origin updates itself just fine, but that's it. It's now April and I still have not been able to update Sims 4. I scoured the net for solutions to these problems and I can't count how many I tried: clean Reinstalling, restarting, changing settings in Origin and UAC settings in user accounts, etc. I couldn't get Sims 4 to update these patches, however, and no windows prompt appeared to give permission for them. It all started back in late November/early December, around when Sims 4 patches were released. ![]()
